Curti & Saffirio Ingegneri Associati was founded in January 2004
To meet the new needs emerging in the world of Civil Structural Engineering with the demand for the designing within very limited timeframes of structures that make the most of the potential of the materials used and the new technologies offered by the market.
Drawing on in-house engineering expertise, a series of programs has been developed for reinforced concrete and steel structure assessment
in particular for the designing and assessment of prestressed elements in view of the new specifications contained in the Eurocodes and Italian Prime Ministerial Order no.3274/03, updated with the provisions contained in Ministerial Decree 14.01.08. As a result, the requirements were met of various prefabrication companies operating in northern Italy, Sicily, Southern France and Russia.
In addition to this specific professional expertise, the firm has benefited from in-depth studies carried out with particular interest into the application of slab calculations on both foundation and elevation structures in collaboration with technical consultants operating in Central Italy, developing a proprietary design methodology that takes advantage of the knowhow reported in not only the Italian standards and the Eurocodes, but also the US ACI standards. The firm has deep roots in the local area, where numerous traditional building projects have been delivered in the residential field, as well as in services, sports and infrastructure.
Investment over the course of 2015
reinforced the staff, and strengthened IT support through the purchasing of parametric software (Tekla Trimble) to broaden and expand skills in the development of metalwork and production shop bills of materials.
Numerous commissions were then acquired for adapting the engineering of steel designs to the needs of the metalwork shops tasked with producing and assembling the structures.
Over the following years, the use of parametric modelling tools
in design was extended first to the world of prefabricated reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete, and then to normal reinforced concrete with particular emphasis on structures with flat slabs. The level of service provided has consequently grown significantly, increasing the target of the clientele and the prestige of the orders acquired.
